How do I use Covergirl's loose powder minerals foundation?

I just bought it, and it seems to make my face sparkle when light hits it. I am not sure if it is supposed to look this way. This really looks funny, and I was wondering if I were using it wrong, or if there is something I should do to minimize this effect.

The more dense you apply it, the more you'll sparkle. Try this: using a clean, dry brush, get a little powder on the tips of the bristles. Knock the brush against the powder container to remove access. Whisk your brush around the empty lid to spread the powder among the bristles. Now brush the brush over your face evenly. This should give you a mild glow without funny sparkles.
